For learning
Line Slope Finder’s tools, lessons and practice problems are educational resources. They are meant to help you understand slope, straight-line equations, simultaneous equations, quadratics and lines of best fit, and to check your own working. They are not a substitute for your teacher, your course materials or your exam board’s specification.
Accuracy of results
The calculators work with the numbers you enter and round their answers for display. Results can be affected by rounding, by points or equations typed incorrectly, and, in photo mode, by how accurately the scale and points are read from the picture. A line of best fit is a statistical estimate, and the correlation coefficient describes the data you entered, not what causes it. Always check that an answer makes sense, and show your own working when it is asked for.
Methods and notation differ between courses and countries, for example “gradient” and “slope”, or forms of the equation of a line. Where your course asks for a particular method or form, use that.
